This robot doesn't have the same features as some of the more expensive models we've tested, but it does cover the basics. We could watch television while it was cleaning without feeling like we were being constantly bombarded by noise.
Our testers were impressed by how simple it was to install and use, and were impressed with its ability to get all the mess off their flooring. It also did a good job at removing pet hair and messes from carpeting, though it was not as effective in removing stubborn staining. The app was easy to use and easy to understand. They were able schedule the vacuum to clean regularly to cut down on manual work. The one downside is that it doesn't have any mapping technology or object avoidance technology, so you can't direct it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips work).
Another model from iRobot's affordable line that is the V3S Pro has some impressive features for the price. It beat out all other robotic vacuums we tested when it comes to finding and avoiding obstacles and it's the perfect budget option for those looking for a cleaner self-emptying robotic vacuum that can handle pet hair and messes both on carpets with low pile and hardwood floors. It is also very quiet and has a large dust bin that can hold a lot of dust before it has to be empty.
The V3S Pro did not make it into our top choices lists from trusted sources who test hands-on, but it was praised by Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. The V3S Pro was simple to use and set up, but the battery life was not long.
